**DISCLAIMER: Currently we are only accepting applicants for Eastern Characters (Doman, Ivalician, Yanxian, Thavnairian, etc) Or characters with Eastern knowledge. To accompany this you must have at least STORMBLOOD completed. ****Regarding Alts: While we understand the reason for Alts and the limitations within XIV we are currently only accepting Main RP accounts. However if you are applying on an alt and wish to still be a part of the SHOKU story experience we are willing to consider your application upon further conversation. **
REGARDING VOIDSENT AND YOKAI: We provide a secure sanction for creatures of the night but with extreme stipulations. These characters will be acting in accordance with an entirely different set of rules we like to refer to as 'The Masquerade.' If you are familiar with VTM at all, the rules are very similar. For more information regarding our tolerance for the occult please look below.However please note that WE ARE NOT TAKING ANY NEW VOIDSENT CHARACTERS AT THIS TIME

The Masquerade Rules:
Void RP and Occult RP will operate under the Masquerade, a tenet of five core rules that must be followed in addition to the Yakuza code for members of Nisshoku-gumi. These are as follows and are subject to change at any given point:
As a Voidsent you are responsible for communication with the family given your current or intended interest in Voidsent or the Occult at all times both OOCLY and ICLY.
Your usage of the Void as a Voidsent or Occult abilities should never be showcased in such a way that brings trouble or removes our cover and subtlety within the family.
Your actions as a Voidsent will not disrupt or ruin the harmony of the family as a whole. Intended or vengeful violence without provocation, fornication with your brother’s spouse or lover, endangering the family as a whole, or giving freely or exposing our secrets to outsiders will not be tolerated.
You will not make your family members into your followers, worshippers, foodstocks, or harem enthralled beings as there is no collective greater than the family itself.
Without the expressed approval of using your voidial abilities you will refrain and operate under the masquerade without disagreement. Being ‘ill equipped’ or having ‘your means of protection’ being solely tied to these arts or state of being is no excuse.
Punishments:
At the highest point of transgression the result for breaking these conducts can be extreme as death (read below for explanation) or censure (also read below) at the discretion of the family.
(death will not be performed on your character without consent oocly, but will be considered a means of writing your character out of the Nisshoku-gumi storyline. If you do agree to character death with consent of the affected writer you will detail the terms of how this is enacted. We will never force it upon you, but do reserve the right to proclaim in our own story’s narrative the means of your erasure from existence. Censure is the complete removal from the family on an IC level with access to still remain as a member OOCLY and operate inside of it. These punishments will be swift and are more likely to occur based on negligence or anything that puts a target on the family itself or members of the family.)
For infractions that are otherwise a consequence of a situation in story or towards the family or other players outside our hold will result in extremes taken under the express discretion of the family. Oyabun, gardeners and senior members of the free company may deal with these actions on consideration of the crime/transaction/failure to respond in methods of their choosing with consent of the player receiving.
Any altercations that exceed the conscious reason of being able to be discussed OOCLY or handled ICLY will meet immediate termination with explanation pending if applicable.
**Exceptions: **
General activity and noted behavior are reasons for exemption of immediate termination or punishment.
A noted or observed sense of being pure of intent or meaning are also ways to avoid punishment or critical examination.
Having screenshots or accurate evidence to prove one's innocence will allow refrain from termination or immediate enforcement of punishment.
Having the ability to communicate when faced with the prospect that your enjoyment is hindering others enjoyment or creating a divide in the FC will show an openness to reconsidering punishment.

As is tradition of the Yakuza a hierarchy depicting the relationship between the parent and the siblings / children of such a family is formed. Our free company utilizes the rankings of the Yakuza with modifications for role-play purposes in the universe for Final Fantasy XIV.At the head of our family is the Oyabun who takes responsibility for the entire family in both business and social settings. They are the 'parent' and are regarded with equal levels of care, respect, and lethality in the name of their hold or their clan's intentions and standing within the world. Roles given from the family are not direct correlations of power in the free company's out of character aspects (ex; having the role of Wakagashira does not make one an officer of the FC and thus they have no power to make rulings, declarations, or act in the 'interest' of the FC as an authoritative figure.)
The Nisshoku-gumi formerly known as The Underdark is a heavy role-play free company that has carried on for years delivering role-play of the criminal variety on the Crystal Data Center on Balmung Server. We pride ourselves for being longstanding and a constant namesake and old gem in the oasis of many other reputable names in the RP community.Before applying to our free company it is strongly encouraged that you read the rules on this carrd, the rules of the application, and sit down to ask yourself if you are able to commit to a free company at this current time.For any questions, comments, or concerns you may click the buttons below to redirect you to the front page or to review our contact information.
